For Sushi & Poke Counters

Sushi and poke labels with Nutrition Facts, allergens and the raw-fish advisory

FoodLabel App was first built for grab-and-go sushi counters in grocery stores, hospitals and campuses. Every roll gets a clear label with price, Enjoy By date, Nutrition Facts, allergens and the consumer advisory for raw fish, and every package is tracked from prep to sale.

The everyday problem

Why sushi & poke counters switch to printed labels

  1. Most sushi has a one-day shelf life, so every label needs the right date, every single day.

  2. Rolls with raw fish need the consumer advisory, and fish, shellfish, soy, wheat, egg and sesame turn up all over the menu.

  3. Counters inside host stores are often asked to report how much was made, sold and thrown away.

What you get

How FoodLabel App helps sushi & poke counters

Sign up as “Sushi & Poke” and we’ll set up suggested categories and a few sample items. You can change everything later.

Full 2 × 8 in roll labels

The tall label fits everything: price, name, net weight, Enjoy By date, Nutrition Facts, ingredients, CONTAINS: line, advisory, refrigeration line and barcode.

Raw-fish advisory

Mark an item as raw and the consumer advisory prints on its label. Sushi accounts start with raw-fish wording you can edit.

Rice, fish & sauce stickers

Prep stickers for sushi rice, cut fish and sauces, with the rice set up as a critical item from day one.

Daily Production

With Pro, enter bad labels, evening and next-morning leftovers and packages sold. Sales, carry-over and throw-away are worked out for every roll.

Lock the day & export

Submit and lock each day, then export a CSV for one day or a date range to send to your host store.

Many counters, one menu

Each counter has its own “Packaged by” address and timezone, so every label is right for where it’s sold.

FAQ

Questions from sushi & poke counters

Is a consumer advisory needed on sushi?

The FDA Food Code (section 3-603.11) calls for a consumer advisory when raw or undercooked animal foods such as fish are served ready to eat, and most states follow it. Mark the item as raw in FoodLabel App and the advisory prints on its label.

Can we give our host store the production numbers?

Yes. Export the Daily Production report as a CSV file for a single day or any date range and send it on.

What if the store Wi-Fi drops?

The label and prep pages keep working with the last menu they loaded, and prints are counted once the connection is back.
