For Grocery & Convenience Stores

Fresh grab-and-go labels for grocery and convenience stores

Fruit cups, sandwiches, salads and ready meals made in-store need the same label quality as everything else on the shelf. FoodLabel App prints them from a tablet in the back room and tracks how much of it actually sells.

The everyday problem

Why grocery & convenience stores switch to printed labels

  1. In-store fresh food sits next to national brands, and a handwritten label makes it look like an afterthought.

  2. Chains with 20 or more stores must show calories for standard grab-and-go items under the FDA menu labeling rules.

  3. Fresh-food shrink is hard to measure when nobody counts what was made in the first place.

What you get

How FoodLabel App helps grocery & convenience stores

Sign up as “Grocery & Convenience Fresh Food” and we’ll set up suggested categories and a few sample items. You can change everything later.

Shelf-ready labels

Price, net weight, Enjoy By date, Nutrition Facts, ingredients, allergens, refrigeration line and barcode on one clean label.

CODE128 barcodes

Print each item’s own number as a CODE128 barcode, so labels scan at checkout wherever your register knows the code.

Shrink tracking

With Pro, printed labels are counted automatically. Enter leftovers and see sold, carried over and thrown away per item and per day.

Many stores, one account

Each store has its own “Packaged by” address and timezone. Get in touch about pricing for groups of stores.

Keeps printing offline

If the store network drops, the label page keeps working with the last menu it loaded.

Label sizes

Four menu label sizes and a 2 × 1 in prep sticker

Each tablet or PC remembers the label size its printer uses, so the counter and the kitchen can print different sizes.

  • 2 × 8 in

Tall roll label with full Nutrition Facts.

  • 4 × 6 in

    Full label with Nutrition Facts.

  • 3 × 2 in

    Ingredients, allergens and barcode.

FAQ

Questions from grocery & convenience stores

Do we need Nutrition Facts on food we pack in-store?

It depends on what you sell, your size and whether you are part of a chain with 20 or more locations; federal and state rules both apply, so check with your regulator. When you need the panel, FoodLabel App prints it on the 2 × 8 in and 4 × 6 in labels.

Does it connect to our POS?

Not yet. POS integration is coming soon. Today every label carries a CODE128 barcode made from the number you set for the item.

Can we import our item list?

Yes. Import items from a CSV spreadsheet, then adjust prices, shelf lives and allergens in the menu editor.
