FAQ

Questions from delis & sandwich shops

How long can sliced deli meat be kept?

That’s up to you and your health department. The FDA Food Code generally allows ready-to-eat foods that need refrigeration up to 7 days at 41°F (5°C) or below once opened or prepared, counting the first day as day 1, and many delis use shorter times. You set each item’s shelf life and FoodLabel App does the date maths.

Can I put full Nutrition Facts on pre-made sandwiches?

Yes. The 4 × 6 in and 2 × 8 in labels include an FDA-style Nutrition Facts panel. You enter the values; FoodLabel App doesn’t calculate them from recipes.

Will the barcode scan at my register?

Each label carries a CODE128 barcode made from the number you set for the item. If your register already has that number, it can scan it. A direct POS integration is coming soon.
